I don’t know if anyone is interested or experienced and looking for work, but I thought I would let all TGO members know first.

The Company I work for, SCS Architectural Caseworks, Inc., will be running an add in this coming up weekends paper looking to hire. We have been blessed during this hard economic time with plenty of work. Our shop employees have not been forced to work under 40 hours a week yet and things are still looking good for us. In fact the shop worked six days (48 hours last week), with the guys who actually worked Saturday receiving time and a half, and this has been the case throughout this year.

We are looking for an Experienced cabinet maker (bench-man),Experienced Installer, or Experienced Cut-Out man, or possibly all three. We are seeking experienced workers because we need the help immediately and really cannot spare the time for training at the moment.

The add that we are running in the paper will read:

Cabinet Maker

Local Millwork Co.

looking for experienced

Bench-man/Saw Operator/Installer.

Mail resume to

301 W. Olive Ave.

Memphis, TN. 38106

Or Fax Resume to:

901-948-0411

If you are interested or know someone who might be pass this info on. I can not “pull any strings”, or even vouch for anyone (unless I have personally meet you and can vouch for your character). I just know some of the boards members have lost their jobs during these times, and wanted you guys to know of this opportunity.

Cool of you to give the heads up here.

I'm neither close, nor a cabinet maker, but good looking out anyway.

If only you weren't in Memphis. My brother has done all of those I believe but wouldn't want to move to Memphis.

Cabinet Makers!

They will no doubt receive plenty of applicants. The cabinet company I work for also just ran an ad and I was floored as to the number of phonecalls/responses we got. We had people call from Florida/Atlanta wanting the job.

+1 for looking out for woodworkers

I know what you mean. We have had people just show up wanting go fill out an application, we let them, but the problem is they are not experienced in any aspect of the construction field. I hope this will help someone out on here.

Us woodworkers have to stick together. Although I haven't worked in the shop since 2002, I can still build them.
