Knoxville Park Gun Ban Meeting- TONIGHT!!

This thread is just to remind folks to please attend the meeting at 7pm tonight at the City-County building to discuss the proposed ban on guns in the Knoxville city parks. The Knoxville City Council will consider an ordinance that, if passed, would REMOVE a long-time ban on the possession of firearms within city parks. This meeting is in the large assembly hall on the main floor of the City-County Building at 7pm tonight, so BE THERE to SUPPORT this resolution in an effort to protect our rights to self-defense in our local parks!

I have wondered about this. Sure enough if they remove the old ban on guns in parks, and then opt out of the new law about guns. You park going gun toters are no longer looking at a simple 50 dollar fine.

I seriously doubt KNoxville is going to allow guns in parks when all is said and done.

Yep, Haslam is the Great Pretender for Knoxville. No response from him regarding the last email I sent him about the Lonsdale shotgun shooter. Go figure.

In his emails to me (at least whoever is writing them if he's not) he's been pretty clear that he would not support opting-out. So there is hope. I can promise you whatever the case is tonight, it'll be a very close vote. I'll be there with my wife and I hope others will show up. It's a little more publicized this time thanks to the crappy News-Sentinel, so there may actually be some anti's there.
