On my desktop and my wife's laptop we also use win7. Have you tried it?

Gotta agree, I'm a Mac and PC user (granted I haven't tried Leopard, or even Snow Leopard), but Windows7 is awesome.

Snow Leopard up and running. Smooth, sweet, and quick. No muss, no fuss.

As for me, I haven't tried Win7 and at the moment, will not. When the company gets around to upgrading (yeah, right) my laptop, I will be better able to discuss it.

Hey, that's a sweet site metalhead, really shows a heap of intelligence, and puts the "fine points of logic" on the discussion.

As for the SL upgrade - well, I've used PCs since Win 3.1 was NEW and I can state without reservation that this is the least complex upgrade ever.

And as for actually "doing stuff", right now I'm taking a break from responding to two RFQs, Extracting training points from two PDFs to make an executive summary slide show, surfing the web, and downloading a couple of TV episodes. So yeah, I guess I'm not "doing stuff"... And no, I'm not running MS anything, so I guess I'm too stupid to "do stuff"..

Wow, you Mac folks really get defensive when anyone has anything bad to say about your Apples eh?

As for me, I'm still using XP Pro and it "just works" too. Vista, on the other hand, is a piece of crap that I refused to "upgrade" to.

I will give Apple a +1 for their low cost upgrade. But they get a -10 for the humorless buttpipes with superiority complexes that are Mac owners.(That was a joke. I only mention this because I fear I could be partially correct and that some humorless buttpipe may read this and get their panties in a bunch.)

Metalhead, that was a funny article. That guy's site is hilarious.B)

According to posts you should be able to use the upgrade cd as it is a full install. Just search the web. Even Walt Mossberg said use the upgrade cd on Tiger machine.

Wow people really love their computers. They're just machines, folks. Just machines. It'll be ok if you like something that someone else doesn't.

I've heard today that SL is a little buggy. A first for Apple on a OS release. I'll wait until the first update before jumping in.

Not a first, Leopard had it's growing pains as well.

So far, a few hours in, no issues here - stable and fast.

Yeah, now that you mention it, I remember that too. I waited until I got my rebate on my iPhone to get Leopard, so it might have been de-bugged by the time I actually loaded it?

David Pogue in his SL review in the NYTimes, while very positive about it, did say the browser was an issue. Also I've read reports that it's having a hard time finding some device drivers. I'm sure the first update will be forthcoming and fix all that stuff.

I had no problems upgrading my 20 in from Tiger to Leopard, and I bought it the night it became available. Talk about the faithful journeying to mecca - MacAuthority off I65 was jammed... ;)
