For all of you who have a Mac with an intel processor, Snow Leopard officially comes out the 28th, this Friday for $29.00 to upgrade from OS 10, I will be one of the first people at the Apple store Friday morning. I got to play with a Mac Book pro with Snow Leopard, it is huge difference in speed, booting, programs opening, they did this one right and for $29.00 it is a no brainer!

I was told it's $29 to upgrade from Leopard, not from any OSX installation but I don't know for certain.

All four of my machines are running Leopard anyway, so I'll get the family pack for like $49 and upgrade all of them. Two of them will be able to operate in 64 bit mode, which I'm hearing is SCREAMING fast...

I have a pre-order for Snow Lep with Amazon, so I'm looking forward to receiving my copy soon. ;)

Unfortunately I use Windows. I think they're due to release Tarpit-Sloth soon, though.

Meh... I get tired of comments like this. Windows 7 is the version upgrade that Vista should have been but failed miserably at. It's as stable as XP and is lightyears more improved than Vista.

Aw, c'mon. Embrace the humor.

I'm one of the first to kick Microsoft in the balls for doing something wrong, having made a good living supporting their junk for the past 15 years or so. Problem is... they got this one right.

The bad news is that people will probably avoid Win7 for a while because of how monumental of a dick-up Vista was. Pity.

barring windows 7.

I have owned and used every Microsoft OS to date, Apple Leopard using a Unix core cannot be beat, it is the best I have used and believe me it took me several years to convert, but once you go Mac you never go Back

Is it a full install or just an upgrade?

Unlike windows, you do not need to upgrade, the DVD installs the OS while leaving your installed programs intact, it took 39 minutes on my Mac Book Pro and honestly my laptop runs a heck of a lot faster with it, this by far was the best $29.00 I have ever spent!

I have used windows 7, I always do the RC when Microsoft emails me, and while it is by far the best Microsoft has offered, OSX Snow Leopard blows it away :tough:

I'm still running Tiger so they want me to pay $169 and buy the iLife and Iwork crap i have no need for, crap.

According to posts you should be able to use the upgrade cd as it is a full install. Just search the web. Even Walt Mossberg said use the upgrade cd on Tiger machine.

It is the whole operating system on the Disc, you should be able to use it on anything, also unlike Microsoft it requires no serial number or activation code, it rocks :tough:
