Gun Shows are a JOKE!

I don't understand how the same guy can afford to buy a table at every show I go to and try to sell the same Ruger SR9 for $565.

He knocks 10% off for some sucker who thinks he's getting a deal and he's set for table money for a couple of shows.

LOL. I think I know the guy you're talking about.

I thought the gun show was where you could go get a deal or at least a fair shake, and its more of the same like gun stores.

If I want to get bent over I'll just to to my local in Smyrna.

Curious, which one?

$10 says it's Specialty Arms.

Then I'd win $10.

Specialty Arms is in Lavergne.

The Lasmyrnaboro megaplex. I swear it's hard to tell where one city ends and the next begins.

Based on various comments sometimes I think I must be the only guy to get good service at Specialty Arms.

I have no problem with them. Of course, one of the guys that works there is going to be one of my groomsmen.

On another note, the only good deal I have ever found at a gun show was @ the Franklin one. Got a 75rd Chinese drum for $100. The guy must of thought it was a romy.

I've bought a 92fs there, and a 10/22 magazine, and my friend bought a marlin 336 there, we got good service both times, and any time I've been in there they've been pretty good to me.

The deals at gun shows are not on the tables, they are walking around in carry bags, and various gun boxes! The guys walking around with the guns dont want to get nailed by the dealer so they will give you a better price! Have got some great deals at gun shows! If I really am in a got a pocket full of money mood (which rarely happens), I stay by the door where the people are just coming in to see what deal tiptoes in.

I'd much rather support my local FFL for currently-in-production guns. Gunshows are like easter egg hunts, you never know what you'll find on the smaller tables, older gents selling off their collections. 95% is overpriced, or junk, or both, but sometimes you get lucky. I found my broomhandle mauser at a local show, at a great price. Same for my trapdoor Springfield.

Up here in east TN most of the tables are people that own gun shops that mark their guns up $50.00 to $100.00 over what you could go to their store on Monday and get them for. I quit going to the shows around the Johnson City area. I will not pay seven or eight bucks to look at the high priced stuff. The best gun shows I have ever been to are in Richmond VA and Raleigh NC. I have always found good deals there.
