FNRA Organizational meeting for Coffee and Franklin Counties

Is anyone interested in helping organize a FNRA Banquet in Coffee and Franklin Counties. We are meeting at Sernicola's in Cowan on the 30th of September to find out what we need to do to get a banquet in our area. We need all the help we can get.

The organizational meeting was very encouraging. Thanks to Mike Webb for coming all this way, and for his support!

Notes:

- This 'chapter' is aimed at Coffee and Franklin counties, taken over from the previous inactive chapter named the 'Highland Rim Friends of the NRA'... are considering renaming it to 'Southern Middle Tennessee Friends of the NRA'.

- The charter for this chapter is signed, and initial officers selected. Further details and contact information will be forthcoming here and on the Friends of the NRA website.

- We intend to coordinate with the Highland Rim Shooters Club and Middle Tennessee Shooters Club for their support and participation.

- The goal for the remainder of this year is to plan and organize a Friends of the NRA event, central to Coffee and Franklin counties, for the first quarter of 2008. This will involve recruitment, recruitment of sponsorships and services (such as a location and catering), and ticket sales.

It would be a great start if any of the local gun-clubs' leadership would return my calls & e-mails...

I'm starting to forsee a whole lot more grunt work for fewer people than I envisioned.

I've got a couple of reliable donors lined up though, now we've just got to get at least a few more folks willing to help out and come to the next meeting (tba).
