I had the pleasure of meeting Brandon from Shark Tac today at the Smyrna gun show and had him fab up an outside the waistband holster for my HK45. I thought I'd post some pics so you guys could see the quality. :D

As most of you know, I'm a huge fan of the Raven Concealment Phantom holster so I had Brandon whip up one of his similar designs. I can already see quite a few things about his holsters that I prefer more than the Raven.

If you're in the Smyrna gun show this weekend, stop by the Shark Tac booth and tell Brandon hello and maybe get him to build something for you. We're hopeful to have him a the Mid-South Guns & Gear Expo this December too so this is an excellent chance to see what he can build for you ahead of time also.

What do you like over the Raven?

1. Faster delivery. On the spot vs. 6-8 weeks.

2. Thicker belt loops; less chance of the kydex breaking there.

3. Additional grommets to improve retention around the trigger guard.

4. Wider "sweat guard"; doesn't bite into your skin as easy as the narrower guards do.

5. Did I mention on the spot delivery?

Man that's awesome! I really wanted a Raven for my CZ P07, but they won't make me one. I hope they can make it!

I think you will be pleased if you go this route. I'm wearing my HK45 in the holster that Brandon made and it's super comfortable. The way he mounts the belt loops even provides flexibility in ride-height, so I raised the holster a bit so that it conceals even easier beneath a T-shirt now.

I was going to ask about that, originally it looked like the holster would leave the end of the barrel pretty low. How tightly does it pull in to your side? I remember being pretty impressed with how close the Raven held the firearm to your body, how would you say the Shark Tac compares?

I'd say that they both pull the holster in equally tight. I can hide the HK45 with no problems under a regular t-shirt. :)

I sstopped & talked to Brandon Sunday at the show. He was a really nice guy. To bad they had him in such a crappy spot. The holster looks great David.
