Yea I watched that online yesterday. Unless I missed it after watching it twice, the reporter never mentioned that the permit holder wasn't allowed to drink while carrying.

To me that's a big difference to the way the story was reported.

That's why Newsbusters picked it up. I love how the state owned media gives half-truths to scare people about the big bad HCP folks.

You're right. They intentionally made it sound like we're sauntering up to the bar with our six shooter and ordering up a tall cold one. I must say, I'm truly shocked to see such one sided reporting from ABC. It's just not like them.

 Get it? I made a funny!

I used to work for a couple of ABC affiliates. It was interesting how frequently the information they sent on the affiliate wire didn't match with what they included in the network newscasts.

I agree - made it seem like people can drink and carry. And that Rayburn guy: what a maroon, as Bugs Bunny would say.

And I meant to add in my last thread: Miss Nikki as always presented her case and the case for responsible gun ownership well.

And I will say again, Rayburn - what a tool.

To lose your spouse at such a young age is a pain I can hardly imagine. To lose them under the circumstances Nikki lost Ben is just that much worse. It takes a special kind of courage to do what Nikki does, being thrust into the media and standing up against the anti-gun crowd.

God bless this young lady, keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I hope to be honored enough to meet her at a TGO event someday, to say thank you in person for upholding our rights.

Thank you guys for your support. It means soooo much to have people like you out there giving me encouragment. I always get nervous just before I do interviews and I wonder how I am going to come across to the general public. Once I get on and start talking then the nervousness goes away and I just talk. I believe in what I am saying with every fiber of my being. I wish I did not have to be on these programs to begin with. Quite frankly, I would rather be here on the couch chilling with Ben and watching his favorite TV Series "The Wild Wild West" and eating popcorn. But that is not possible now. Everyday I try to do "something" to stand up for our 2nd Amendment Rights. It may be just coming on the forum and communicating with people like yourselves or it may be visiting a restaurant that is posted and trying to educate them, or it may be doing an interview or writing an article. I really have 3 lives going on. I have my work life, my "mission" life, and my personal life. Work is going pretty good although I am not back to 100% just yet. My "mission" life is something that I focus on the most, and my personal life consists of staying in touch with mine & Ben's friends and family. I am having a cookout here at the house this saturday for all of mine & Ben's friends. I try to have them over once a month so everyone stays in touch. I am going to need those friends when this trial starts. I am also seeing a shrink. Which is really odd for me because I have my Bachelors degree in Psychology. But none the less, I know I need to go for grief, loss & trauma counseling. Just because I have studied it does not mean I can figure it out for myself. I stay close to my Mom. She is staying here at the house with me for now. She has been a huge help. Bless her heart, she even does my laundry for me. It's good to have someone here so I don't have to be alone. I have 3 dogs that keep me on my feet too. Every morning when I wake up, I say "I love you Ben". None of us really know what happens when we die. Ben & I talked about it alot just after his Dad passed away on Dec 7th 2008 at the age of 93. Ben told me that if he ever died he would want me to remember him and love him but he would not want me to be alone forever. He told me that his only firm stance would be that I find someone that loves me just as much as him (then he said...well, nobody is gonna love you as much as I do) but he better be damn good to you!) Ben also said that if his spirit could find a way to reach me and let me know he is here, he would move Mountains to do that. I really believe Ben's spirit is with me everyday. I have this calm that takes over when I get scared and I feel like it is Ben & God taking care of me. I'm starting to get choked up so I need to hop off..... hugs.

This is a statement that just pisses me off to no end:

DAVID SMITH, ATTORNEY: The Tennessee legislature has, in effect, put guns in bars, and has encouraged shootings in bars.

Yeah, that's exactly what the TN leg has done, encourage shootings in bars. I mean, look at all the shootings that have happened since July 14th....

This is one statement that is asinine...

OSUNSAMI: There is one way for restaurants to get around the law and keep the guns out. They can post a sign like this one, saying no. Restaurant and bar owners worry that the signs alone aren't enough, and that they'll have to enforce them and start checking their customers for guns at the door.

The only people who are going to obey signage are the law abiding gun owners...what it is about this one simple statement that so many people just don't get--criminals do not care about signs, that is why they are called criminals.

Ms. Nikki you're a class act. Standing up better than I imagine I could.
