It's about 45 minutes from anything. The people are generally good down home folks. If you are going to build a house there are virtualy no building codes.

Welcome again to the board. I noticed in your greeting post that you have "ground" in Sunbright (I assume you mean land, maybe it's a southern thing :(). Anyway, have you never been in that area before/seen the land?

That area is really pretty, so you'll love it. I'd love to get some land one day, build a house, away from all the mess. But that'll be awhile, the wife loves the Suburbs too much...

Get down here soon so you can "really" enjoy guns!

Sunbright & Morgan County? Never heard of em and I've lived in TN all of my life.

Guaranteed to be top notch country living! :(

I've started to do some excavating. Nothing major. When I go for a few days at a time, I spend most of my time on the land, walking it and getting familiar with the terrain. It is quiet and nothing around me, which I like. I'm trying to locate restaurants, Doctor's offices, stores for essentials and again, any other input. Other than deer, what game animals are in the area?

Doctors, food,... civilization... can be found in Oneida or Wartburg. Your next biggest cities, not very big, but they have a walmart, are Oak Ridge and Crossville at about 30-45 minutes away. Then there is Knoxville and Cookville, they have about everything, at about 60-75 minutes away.

For game you have deer, turkey, rabbits, quail, grouse, dove, squirrel and raccoons. There have been some elk released in the area so you might see one sometime.

It's a place where men are men, and sheep lie.

I've only been there once and am not familiar with things, yet. I'm hoping to be there again in about a month. There is nothing on the property, yet other than putting in a driveway and clearing a small area.
