I hope she has to pay.

I think if the loser always had to pay in these lawsuits there would be far fewer frivilous ones.

How about that!? I don't wish misfortune on anyone, but in this case, she deserves to get sued back.

Ok, a few things, glad they countersued and didn't take the bull**** offer of $5,000 and are going for the $50,000.....3 years, there should be some more thrown in for time. It's kinda funny, she got 2 broken fingers and is going to get the bill!! Next, they need to throw the attorney that took the case out of the law profession, what a douche.

If I was closer, I would give the guy my business.

If I was a judge in this case, I would leave the bench, walk down and punch her square in the nose. I can't believe there are people out there like that. :bowrofl:

The judge in this case refused to dismiss this on Summary Judgment and sent it to a jury. That is what drug this nonsense out.

This could only happen in America. The lawyer that took this to court should be liable as well as the woman. They should also have to pay court costs.

Oh, there are plenty of people like that out there. They, and their ambulance chasing lawyers almost killed General Aviation (everything except the airlines and military) in the late 1970s. Some manufacturers even shut down building new models with improvements, because the trial lawyers were suing that the old models were defective, otherwise, there would be no need for improvement! I did my Master's Thesis on "Product Liability in General Aviation", and covered many cases as stupid as the skydiving case. The small airplane industry is still struggling to get back on it's feet, even to this day. The last Cessna 152 that was built sold for $42,000.00, and $15,000.00 of that was "Product Liability Insurance"! We don't have the time, or patience, here, but I could tell you about many dumb cases like the one above, many!

Why do they call it common sense when it's so uncommon? Sen. Fred Thompson (Tennessee)
