Gun Nut Clothes?

Recommended Posts

I can't believe I am posting a question about clothes, but here goes.

I normally wear Cargo Pants, either Wrangler Cargo Jeans or the Black or Khaki Cargos. I Love them. I like having the extra pockets and what not, plus they fit great for a fat boy.

Well the other day I drove out to the Army Surplus store in Collierville and while I was there I bought a pair of the olive colored BDUs with the "web" design on them. They are made of a thin material (very breathable) and have a "web type threading on them". I have wore them once, and thought they were great. But here is my question.....

Will I look like a "mall ninja" if I buy more of these and wear them out?

I will be sticking to the basic colors:

Khaki

Black

Olive

Gray

I will not be wearing the camo patterns out, maybe in the woods but not out around town.

What do you guys think. If you saw someone out wearing BDUs and you knew they were not military or LE, would you sniker? Not that I really care, but I guess I do.

Your only truly tacticool if you decide to wear a shirt with a wolf on it while your wearing your pants.

Even better if it's a shirt with 3 wolves and a moon....

Wolf shirt is the way to go for sure!

The "web" design you are talking about is called Ripstop.

It is available in 100% cotton and a 64/40 blend of nylon/cotton.

If you want something less "paramilitary" and "I shop at Army Surplus stores" you can look at things like;

5.11 Tactical which provides all of the utility, and looks more casual and civilian that BDU pants.

I wore the Three Wolves and a Moon shirt to the closing on our house. The homeowner knocked an extra $45,000 off the price due to the awesomeness of my shirt.

Another thumbs up got 5.11's stuff. Their clothes do not look (too) tactical and have some awesome features (velco sides for easy access to your gun, etc). They seem very well made too.

Next time I'm out thay way I need to get some shirts I saw.

Joe - when's the new website gonna be up!? :)

Memphis...as long as you keep it "simple" BDU's are the way to go...you don't necessarily want to look to "PARA Military"...no blousing "rubbers"(do hicky used for rolling trouser leg above your boots...instead of tucking them into the boot)...no jungle boots...or those silly suede "desert boots" If you want that hard core "Death from Above" look...spit shined black boots...and by all means...shop at USCAV.com or ACTIONGEAR.com :)

I've just now been able to tear my eyes away from those glittering emerald eyes to post this reply. Going to go change my shorts now. The wearer of this shirt is given the name Serpentor.

If these two shirts were to ever occupy the same room, a matter/anti-matter annihilation would take place and the universe would cease to exist.

I watched an episode of How Its Made for both of these shirts. I lost my sight for seven days due to the sheer glory that came through my television set.
