Saw District Nine last night.

Was a lot better then I thought it would be, really enjoyed it. The special effects were extremely well done, and the plot was a lot more interesting then the previews make it out to be.

And the alien firearms are awesome. Not going to give what they are way, but if you see it you'll know what I'm talking about.

Thanks for the review... many of my friends have been telling me to go and see it. Now, if I could only find the time.

Good to hear, I definately want to see this movie, but was concerned about "another" alien movie.

With Peter Jackson involved I figured it might have some potential...

That's always the trick. We went last night at the 9:30pm showing.

The style that it was filmed and pieced together was pretty cool too, its not the typical film time line of starts here.........goes.......and ends here.

I was VERY skeptical of another Peter Jackson film, I have to say I am by NO means a fan of his later work. Has anyone ever made it through King Kong? I did love Frighteners though, his early stuff. But I was proven wrong, and walked out pleased, and no regretting the $19 I spent to see it.

Thanks for the review. I tend to shy away from movies with alot of computer generated imaging but I'll probably take a chance on this one.

I liked King Kong. I agree it was a touch long, but I thought it was a good movie. Like Peter Jackson though, I always loved King Kong growing up. I've seen practically every film Peter's done and I'm always impressed, even though he only produced this, I think it will be great.

I'm really looking forward to The Lovely Bones this winter.

Anyone else think it was paced and sort of written like a video game? Like Half Life or something. I thought it was a pretty good popcorn flick but full of plot holes and stars a guy who doesn't know how to work a power suit and swears a lot.

I thought it was so so. Matinee or wait for the DVD rating from me.

Its a Socio-Politcal statement movie with deep thought involvement which to me is distracting when trying to watch the guts fly out of someone!

And how many times can you drop the F-bomb with a Afrikans accent? I think they maxed the limit on this one! Not suitable at all for younger teens.
