Amazing.

Look at the you tube comments. I love how people get in arguements over stuff that is almost tangential.

didnt mean to :woohoo: on the thread, just thought a link would suffice.

to be on topic. i would also need a new change of draws. it says he shoots the water ? that would be the last thing i would waste a bullet on in that situation

I'd say he probably shot too early out of fear and missed. As it turned out, shooting the water was sufficient.

I bought a .44 mag back-up last year because I was planning a float moose hunt in Alaska. The trip got canceled for unforeseen circumstance, but I hope to go next year. Scary stuff with that bear, especially given the remote conditions.

I agree. He got lucky.

I have had so many bear encounters in western WY were I lived until recently. Never one like that!

I saw that clip on a show called "When Animals Attack". It was on Animal Planet or Discovery, not sure. That had to be terrifying. I bet those guys were afraid of their shadows for the whole trip.

That was a good show. It also had some clips of people getting attacked by deer (one was a doe :)).

That is Nucking Futs.

Thankfully they carried a firearm along.

That's what irritates me so much about the resistance to carrying in the woods around here. Whether it's a WMA, State Park, National Forest, whatever I want my gun. At least we got some new legislation to address that.

Although we don't have brownies here, there have been a few fatal black bear attacks recently here on the East side. I know that would be extremely rare, but who knows what other critter might be having a bad day.

I saw that on his show. The thing is they where just floating along talking about how any minute they would be seeing bears. Then around the bend the cubs and MOMMA! One of those times you are glad you got a guide!!

I wouldn't have had to worry about brown stains in my shorts. I'd have had a heart attack! Those guys were lucky!

:P

Lion attacks hunter, hunters shoot each other... more at 11.

I was thinking along the same lines.

I just watched it again. At about 29 sec in the video, I think they really shot that guy farthest away by the tree! Either that, or he was falling down to avoid the bullet :P

That's a bad day in the field. Shot all your ammo, got bit by your quary, missed everything but your hunting partner, and your lion got away. :D
