Remotely Operated Vehicles, ROV

Guys if you have an electronics or Hydraulic background, that is the key to get in the buisness. In the next year or so I plan on holding a seminar (training and Introduction) in Nashville that will offer a way into this industry. I have to work out the details and everything but no one in our area Mid TN that I know of works in this field besides myself and a co worker that I convinced to move into our great state :screwy:

Why... I have an Electrical Engineering degree. But the time away from home wouldn't go over well with my wife at all. :screwy:

That is the downside of this business, however the pay and time off more than make up for it. I actually spend more quality time with my family now than I did working for cable companies, so for me at least I have the best job in the world :)

thats awesome whats goin on in india ? training? and how hard is ROV to get into? like is there degree prerequisite, or do they train on the job, or is that what your seminar is for. :screwy: keep safe, you should keep the biggest blade allowable, or at least i would... and that would be cool if the psd is cool too... hope they bring plenty of 'supplies'(goods) [insert machinegun smilie]

pm me with info on what training/education is needed if you dont want to post it up, seriously

Training is on the job, Electronics, Hydraulics help get in the door. The industry is so slow at the moment that only experienced guys are working. That will change anytime.

I have been talking with some guys who like me are Senior Supervisors and have trained many Pilot Technicians. There are schools in Texas that people go thru and pay around $8000.00 to get them in the door. I am sick and tired of what I see come out of these schools, the poor kids do not have a clue as to what to expect of them out here.

I am checking into getting some grants to set up 2 to 3 week seminars where I can take anyone with a strong amount of common sense and have them ready to go offshore and work with ROV's. The reputation that myself and the guys I am considering having do this with me will secure a job for anyone we train. Presently there are only 4500 experienced ROV pilots in the world competent enough to be good at this. This is what makes you EXTREMELY valuable. Guys when the industry picks up I will let you all know :P

I like how you think sir. I have a few friends that travel out of the country. I stock up whenever I can. I've kind of moved away from bourbon but I like to serve it to guests...

Please let the pirates get close enough to guarantee their intentions.

Then hose thm down, KILL the survivors and never mention any attack to anyone!

Kind of a sea version of SSS.

Good luck on the trip and at least I would love to hear more details of the trip!
