Security Escorts on My Boat

Recommended Posts

Well I got some good news the other day, you see my company is going to work in India and I am sailing with the boat over there. We will be going through the Suez canal and that area is known for serious Piracy and Bandits. I have asked several times about taking firearms (someone onboard) and at the end of the day they hired a security team of 7 members to sail with me. I am not sure who they are yet (what company) but they are supposed to be the best in the buisness and they are quite expensive to say the least. This should be a very interesting 58 day Voyage. I will post pictures of highlights of the sail :P

Good luck on your journey, it sure sounds like the beginning of a adventure yarn. Stay safe, keep your head and butt down if need be, say your prayers, and keep us posted on how things turn out

A burst of .50 in their general direction is usually enough to discourage them. Especially if it accidentally takes the bow off the little fiberglas skiffs they generally use :D

+ 1000 With any luck they might be EMO'S and be to busy dabbing their eyes and waving hankies to do any real damage

( Sorry Mods, couldn't resist a little cross thread humor, won't happen again )

some guys were singing that when we went down the Ocoee River.

I was expecting some more banjo in that setting

ok, someone correct me if I am wrong--but I was under the impression that carrying firearms into international ports of call was illegal in most if not all foreign countries?

If you are a multi million dollar company and have a boat with over $50 million dollars of equipment on your vessel, you can hire Maritime security companies whom hold licenses for the purpose of escorting a vessel. I do not understand all of the red tape involved (not my responsibility) but it is extremely expensive and is done all of the time in my industry :)
