Brownells AR O'size Mag Release

I purchased a couple of these, (stock number 080-000-529) because of some manual dexterity problems and am having trouble fitting them.

Has anyone else tried these out? The problem I'm having is that the unit pushes the left side of the mag release out beyond the left side of the receiver and it drops vertical and prevents the release from returning to battery until you push it up and back into the slot.

Brownells says to file some material off of the shaft of the release, but if the unit is modified so that the left side of the release WON'T clear the receiver, then the unit can never be removed from the receiver. Catch 22. Here's a link showing the unit. It is a heckuva nice product if I can fit it properly.

Any help would be most appreciated.
