I find it interesting that no one spoke in favor of opting out...

The Daily Post-Athenian | dailypostathenian.com

Several of the assembled audience members wanted to address the Council, but in the interest of time, Mayor Hal Buttram restricted audience participation to one person for the ban and one person against. But, while one of those attending said he opposed the ban, no one spoke in favor of it
Yet 1 councilman spoke like he was for opting out:
Buttram said the issue "is a very sensitive" one.

"I'm a member of the (National Rifle Association), and a permit holder," he said, "but this is a decision we have to make for all of our citizens."

I make it a point to go to Fair down there each year. The parking areas don't give me a warm fuzzy feeling after dark. Here's hope common sense prevails.
