For quite a while now, the left has used accusations of racism as an instant debate stopper. Don't like what your opponent is saying? Call them a racist, and change the subject to their supposed dislike of minorities. The hoped for result is that their opponent drops the topic and instead defends against the spurious charge.

Not this time. Socialism isn't a racial characteristic, and the only response should be a flat statement that the accuser is a liar.

I'm so very tempted to say that very thing to (unnamed) members of this forum, who apparently equate 'racist' with "anyone opposed to my argument". Their use of the term is even stupider than those who call anyone opposed to the tenets of islam a racist. Religion, much less a religious cult built by a would-be world ruler in the dark ages, isn't a racial characteristic either.

Well, Clinton was considerd by many to be the first black President, so there you go, you dang old racist redneck gun shooting honky birther right wing wacko kind of guy (and also a self hater, since you don't like Clinton and Biden you don't like yourself).

I did find it it ironic their whole rant was about not being able to have civil debates becasue of dead end terminology, while using the word birthers over and over to describe the other side.

Irony is a mild descriptor, imho.

Kind of like if I call you a lunatic, but I am the one wearing a tin hat and rubber shoes (to insulate myself and keep the earth's electrical field from killing me cause I am "different'); that would surely qualify me for a job on talk shows to address the hubris and take to task anyone who dares question the administration.

It is instructive to listen to the WH Press Sec, Gibbs, who today said cable TV will or can kill healthcare reform and those folks in the original post video railing against opposition.

Guess they weren't alive or don't know of Vietnam Vets coming home and getting spit on or worse, the ORGANIZED protests against the VN war and many other things, or the likes of Bill Ayers and his ilk who thought it was justified to bomb US targets (and I don't recall her name, but the woman who thought the Tate murders were cool and justified - killing the rich pigs).

Memories are short, it seems and it does make them look like fools, but I wouldn't insult the cartoon characters by calling these nuts loony toons, LOL.

But quit calling these people socialists - that is giving European socialists a bad name .
