Wal Mart Ammo

I went to the Wal Mart in Hermitage last night. They are still remodeling the store but I noticed that where they moved the sporting goods too that there was an empty section with alot of tags on it. Upon further inspection I saw that they had numerous price tags labled on the shelved for all different calibers of ammo. I always thought they kept the ammo (with the exception of shotgun shells) behind the counter. Perhaps they are gonna put the self defense ammo behind the counter and the target rounds out to where you can get them now? Maybe someday they will get a decent selection in. BTW picked up a 15 count box of Remington 00 Buck for 11.97

Walmart actually having the ammo you are looking for is just about a miracle now-a-days. The only ammo I have ever seen out in front of the counter is shotgun ammo and .22 brick ammo. Haven't seen bricks in a long time though, they go really quickly when they do get them in.

I asked for .45 or .38 at the Cool Springs WM today.. guy just laughed at me. He said the last truckload was all of 2 boxes. Lasted about as many minutes.

Where you see the stickers, a sliding glass door case will be. You will be able to see what is in stock as this case will be where you can see it and not behind the counter, but you won't be able to help yourself. It will take a clerk, not just any clerk, but the clerk with the key to get you what you want. Some shotshells will be left unlocked as always, and maybe some rifle cartridges. But pistol ammo for certain will be locked up.

Do what I do, keep the phone number for all the wallyworlds in your cell phone contacts, then if you can't find the guy with the key, call the store, tell them you are in sporting goods and need help with ammo, ask them to page the guy with the key to sporting goods.

Ok guys, here's a tip: Don't ask the Wal-Mart guys anything because they know very little. I've noticed that most of them like to talk up the ammo shortage rather than give you a realistic assesment on the state of Wal-Mart's inventory.

When I ask about ammo, I always get some story about how they haven't seen ammo since winter, blah blah blah. That isn't even a little bit true. The last 2 Wal-Marts I went to had plenty of ammo, especially compared to the real drought during the last winter. .45 and .38 might be slightly harder to find than 9mm or .40S&W, but it's still out there. If you visit Wal-Mart once or twice a week, you will more than likely stumble across the ammo you need.

The exception would be .380. I don't know why, but I really haven't seen any .380 since November at Wal-Mart.

I just picked up 200 .45's today at the Tazewell Walmart. They had 2 more 100 count boxes left at 12:00.

^2 No need in asking emp bec they do know to much. If you look around you can find some, its just not awhole lot. As far as Hermitage is concerned they never have it in my experiences, I would check other wally worlds!

I went to the smyrna wally-world. Was looking for 9mm. The guy behind the counter asks, "looking for ammo?". I said ya, he says, "9mm I bet, we have a case in the back, how many you want?" I said that's exactly what I was looking for, I'll take six boxes (The limit), then I sent my fiance back there to buy 6 more boxes (sorry if I'm hording, at least I didnt buy it all!).

Walked out with 600rds of Federal 9mm FMJ. $8.97 a box.
