I've been reading her for a little while and figured it was time to join on in. I never thought I would feel the NEED to carry to protect my own here in the USA.

I was injured in OIF-3 and could no longer count on the good ole hands and feet to defend against threats. It was not an easy decision on my part to begin the process of getting a HCP.

It is however what I must do to feel somewhat comfortable going out in public. Not that it helps as of yet as I am only about 40 days into the wait for the permit.

I will most likely be reading more than posting as I have very little experience with handguns. My first was a Walther PPK-380 that I am waiting to send in for recall when the backlog eases up. I also purchased a Walther P-22 for practice and plinking and have a PPS-9 on lay away.

I can not go any higher in caliber as my injury is to my neck and shooting side shoulder.

I look forward to much learning and enjoyment here.

Welcome, and thank you for your service!

Not sure of the status of your process to gain your HCP. If you have not found an instructor yet to work with you, the guys at The Tennessee Sports Foundation, (Jackson local range) are great. Have several instructors, and will work with anyone who is desirous of receiving the training necessary to gain their permit.
