Anybody here in the car business?

I'm not trying to confuse this with the WTS forums but I want to make sure what a fair price for my truck is. I'm considering selling it or trading it in and don't want to get shafted.

Brief overview is a 2006 F150 Supercrew with 15K miles. PM me and I'll give you more of the pertinent details.

Thanks!

Jay

I've looked at a couple of website but man do they vary! I've seen everything from $10,500 - $22,000 and I made sure I entered the right info each time. The "little black book" that the used car manager carries is usually the best judge of what a vehicle is really worth.

I've checked that one too and it say's I could retail it for 19K. (Good sized adjustment for the low miles.) I'm really looking for someone that does this for a living and has one of those "magical" little black books.

I would send a PM to magiccarpetrides, a forum member here. He is the resident expert on used car pricing!

Isn't that sort of like asking a funeral home director what he thinks would be a fair price for a casket? :shake:

He's on the other side of the state so I think I will be safe. I thought he might be in the business. I'll PM him.

Thanks!

When I was in the auto body business we used NADA and most of the insurance adjusters did too. The "Black Book" was usually used by dealers when they were seeing how bad they could take you on your trad-in. NADA has a website. Thanks, Jack

Thats who we use, on the lot, for comparison, trade in, etc.

NADAs little book is who we use for Auction baseline. Very good idea of actual value, just be thorough with ALL information to get an accurate value.
