thank you for not being stuck up about it. i expected quite a different response and now i get it. i now see the checkerd that i didnt catch b4 and i was uneducated about b4, i thought i new what it was but expected it on the front strap. or slide or something.. and since it wasnt stated where was checkered, nor did i see a lanyard loop nor did i recognize the tritium sights and since you said "added since last time pics were taken" i simply phrased it openly soo i didnt get insulted....granted being young and not loaded with $ froma single parent household. i am ignorant on a lot of gun stuff and it is a learning experience, so if you dont like my inquisitiveness (other people included) tell me to piss off with the questions. because thats how you learn AND clarify

thanx again and i will cut back on my time spent here

i wish not to offend anybody but opinions are like butthole you know, and i guess if there stuff in other threads i have said, tell me there (or via pm) and dont hold a grudge about it.

I like the looks of that gun, David. If you're ever out and shooting, I'd like to try that thing out and put a few through it.

No. Someone else loaded the mag and handed it to me. The .40SW was down inside the mag somewhere. It's easier to screw up than you think, especially when people are standing around talking, shooting and loading and not paying 100% attention to the ammo they are dipping into.

Easy mistake.

My buddy did the same thing in his scandium S&W 1911.......he said it didn't quite feel right, and the slide didn't cycle. When he started looking for the cause he noticed a split casing and realized what had happened.

How do you like that MARS mag guide/MSH? I want to put one with the lanyard loop on my Kimber TLE/RLII. I know Smith and Alexander makes one also, and I heard that Wilson Combat does too, but I didn't see it on their site, and I haven't called them to ask the question yet.

It's a Magwell. ;)

The quality is extremely good and so far the finish is holding up nicely (I sprang for the Cerakote option) but the wait time was really long. It would probably have been even more worth it had I gone for the MARS golfball treatment instead of standard checkering. I just wasn't sure if I wanted that look on this gun.

right now I have the Houge grips, but I am thinking about switching to the Simonich gunner grips with the golf ball pattern too on that one, so those with the golfball treatment on the MSH might be a good combo. I haven't decided yet, still in the looking phase.

PM me your email address and I'll forward some ridiculously hi-res pictures that Brian Morrison @ MARS sent me of their different MSH designs. They might help you.

PM sent.

That is about the only thing left to do to my Kimber besides getting a good refinish on it. I treat mine like a dirty whore too.

I was tempted to go with a IonBond finish on it but will probably just do it myself using Cerakote. Not really in a rush for that just yet.

I installed the ED Brown memory groove grip safety on mine and had to take a lot of metal off the frame to make it all smooth and keep it from digging into the web of my hand. I did a quick oxpho blue job on it which will do for a while. I had to take some off my Wilson Combat extended thumb safety too. went to oxpho that too and apparently it's blued carbon steel because the oxpho won't take to it at all. I had a good finish on my Sig 220 with brownells Gun Kote that lasted for about 4 years of daily carry and abuse before it started to chip on me. I think that was because I didn't blast it before I put the finish on though.

I meant to send those pics last night and now I'm heading out to take care of some business today. I'll email them tonight. Sorry.

No problem, I'm not in any big hurry. I'm packing up to head out to the range right now.
