I was wondering if anyone knows about a shooting club or sportsman range in the Clarksville area?

I would like to find something very close, within 15 miles if possible.

If not, anyone have 20 acres for sale for $100 an acre?? ;)

Remember, I am retired military, so I could go as high as $110 an acre

NTPS a USPSA club and MCTS a IDPA club are both great and have ranges in Dickson. Not too far from Clarksville and good bunch of people at both clubs. You can shoot 3 weekends a month I think.

There is the Montgomery County Shooting Range, Montgomery County Shooting Complex Home Page

On the other side of town is Custom Gunsmithing, who has a pistol and rifle range (and a nice shop). Custom Gunsmithing On-Line

There is also a gun club, out toward Guthrie, but don't recall the name or a web site.

You can get several acres out here where I live (Fredonia), but might need to add a zero to the price per acre

Depends on where in Clarksville/Montgomery County; out where I am - Fredonia (off of highway 12, going toward Ashland City), anywhere from 10-15K.

Lots over in Sango (41A area, both sides) can go for 50K plus, for less than an acre (all about location).

Out toward Dotsonville/out highway 79, a little less. Again, just depends on what is around it and size of the parcel.

What is so funny to me is I remember being a teenager (yeah, a while ago - like over 30 years) and my late Dad saying he wouldn't take a dime less than 50K for all of the little farm, less a few acreas around the house (so it would have been about 120+/- acres). My, times do change!

Oh how times have changed! IF ONLY I could go back 30 years and buy some land.....

I also am off 12 btw

I usually shoot at a friends place that lives in Freeeeeedonia, just looking for more options and maybe some new friends to shoot with.

Thanks for all the info for all that responded.

Maybe we can get together sometime and go to Hal's (Custom Gunsmithing). I can shoot out back of house - have enough room for some handgunning but the wife frowns on it, LOL (and yes, she has her HCP, so not anti-gun, just doesn't want me turning the pasture into a range).

Rattlesnakeridge has been doing IDPA the next match is on Sept. 6 but as far as going there and shooting by yourself you can't. They don't have Range Officer's on duty so you can't be alone.

If you want to work on drawing your pistol from you holster I think Hal's Custom Gunsmithing would be the place. Not alot of range would let you do that ofcourse. I know you couldn't do that at the Montgomery County Shooting Complex.

There's a range near Ashland City. I shoot at Henry County Gun Club. You have to be a member to shoot any time. From where your at the ashland city range is closer. HCGC range from you would be about 2 hour drive ( I know people that drive alot farther to get there). www.hcgc.net

This club has IDPA, 3-Gun, Appleseed, Vintage rifle, Trap, skeet and other events. Look at the calender on the web site.
