My recent trade....A CETME

Yep...I know you either love em, or ya hate em. A wise guy(MouseGunner) once told me happiness is a warm AK...I'm gonna try to find that same happiness in a warm CETME. Century Arms Black Widow Sporter(I think...thats what I've gathered off the net) in .308, 7.62 NATO. according to the serial number they punched her out in 1994.

Came from a nice guy who had if for a while, kept it clean, and in great shape from just the runover you can give a gun by looking at it. Bore is shiny and everything cycles by hand. Head space looks right but gonna put the feeler gauge in it and make sure then go shoot it later this week! I've got 3 different brands of ammo to try her out right with!

It would depend on what the chamber says. If it says .308 you can shoot either, if it says 7.62, only shoot the 7.62 stuff in it (at least that is what it means on a M1A).

Congrats on your new rifle! It has been called the "Right Arm of the Free World." Way to go, and enjoy! We will definitely need a range report! (But you still need an AK!)

are you a milsurp ammo only guy or have you tried comercial 308?

When I first bought it I wanted to know if it would run. So the owner of the shop went in the back and brought out some old round lead nose hunting rounds that looked like they were from the 1970's. When it ran those without any problems I knew it was ok. Since then I have shot everything from hunting rounds to South African battle packs and it has run everything.

the AK and the CTEME are two very different weapons, built for two very diffrent missions , I like the AK but if you can get a good .308 it will serve you well. The range is superior to the 762 along with the power. Good luck.
