My new to me Ruger #1

Recommended Posts

There are certain guns that are just timeless classics. The Ruger #1 is one for me. I have always loved the look of #1's. One of my all time favorite deer rounds is the 45-70. These bid ole heavy slow bullets really put the smack down on deer.

Well a couple of weeks ago I saw another TGOer selling a Ruger#1 in 45-70. So I took it off his hands. I put a Leupold VX II on it and took it out last weekend. What a sweet shooter. At 50 yards I out 2 shots through the same hole and at a hundred the next two shots were touching. To say the least I am thrilled. Cant wait to take it out deer hunting with me this fall.

Thanks Glockster157.
