Will be driving to Connecticut this month. Have Ct nonresident permit. Might have to go thru NY and NJ. Are hollowpoints a no go in NJ? Thanks

Neither your TN or CT permit allows you to have loaded firearm in NY or NJ for carry anyway, so you're mainly just concerned about having them in your possession at all?

The answer is yes and no.

General answer is that they are okay for club shooting, hunting, and possession in home, but not for carry. Possession of them passing through the state is gray.

summary at:

If I wanted to be 100% safe, I'd probably just take ball for the duration of the trip. Or buy 20 HP's in CT and leave them there before returning.

Firearm Owners' Protection Act circa 1986

I don't believe ammunition is mentioned in the act, only firearms.

I'm wrong couple times a decade, though.

Thanks guys for replies. I know I can't carry in NY and NJ. Could not find anything about HP"s on handgunlaw.us. Looked at NJ laws, but it is not stated except for sportsman.Glad I don't live in NJ and will probably drive around NJ. You can also carry in restaurants that serve alcohol in CT. Easy to get nonresident license there too.
