Got my motorcycle

Recommended Posts

Well, after a long 3 1/2 month wait, I finally got my motorcycle.

My Dad hauled our bikes to Nashville, then we took the bikes for a 500+ mile round-trip to Jemison, AL and back. The bike ran perfect, and I couldn't be happier.

There are a few minor cosmetic imperfections I'll want to take care of, and I'm still debating whether or not I'll want to get a paint job over the winter. It's going to be more of a daily rider instead of a show bike, so I'm not all that concerned about it right now.

Anyway, here is a picture to give a general idea of what it looks like. My bike has Vance & Hines pipes, hypercharger and a few extra accessories, but other than that, it's pretty close to mine. I'll have to take some pictures in a bit.

Thanks!

Yea, I was expecting to have some sore muscles from a long first ride, but all was good. My bike also has highway bars with pegs, so I was able to stretch out a bit if I needed.

It's a Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad 1500

They're coming shortly. I have to run out to get batteries for the camera.

those are nice bikes, plenty of power

Plenty for me. Even with my big ass on it, it will get scoot down the road.

Hey, I've seen some folks really turn the base models into some pretty darn nice scooters.

If you haven't already, check out Kawasaki Motorcycle Forums. Lots of customizing ideas.

I like that color.

I wasn't sure about it at first, but it has grown on me. I actually like it pretty well. It's a little different from most of the bikes on the road.

Congrats...enjoy!

Thanks again, guys. So far, so good.

Not sure the neighbors are gonna be quite so please when I pull out at 6:00am. It is on the loud side, so we'll see what happens.:screwy:

Guy next door to me does exactly that about that time every morning.

Tell ya I'd be pissed if I wasn't already up from insomnia :screwy:

Well, no one is crying about it, YET! :)

I think I'm going to buy the baffles that are supposed to be in these pipes. They weren't in there when I bought the bike, but it's only $60 for two of them, so I think it may be a good idea to bite the bullet.

I like the current sound, but I'm sure they will sound just fine with the baffles installed. We shall see.

Might be worth it to keep peace with the neighbors...unless you don't like them!

I had a Vulcan 800 a few years ago. The 1500 is very nice...
