I got to counting my moves over the years:

1989 - SLC to Seattle

1991 - Seattle to Dallas

1992 - Dallas to San Antonio

1993 - San Antonio to Ft. Worth

1994 - Ft. Worth to Greensboro NC

1996 - Greensboro to Jackson MS

1998 - Jackson to Shreveport

2004 - Shreveport to Denver

2006 - Denver to Houston

2007 - Houston to Murfreesboro

2009 - Murfreesboro to Fort Lewis WA

This last move has been the most difficult.

Uhaul broke down in Paducah. Off-load and reload into another truck. Left all my guns and accouterments in Denver with my brother. Got to go shooting.

Arrived Sunday night. Paperwork not ready for Brigade Commander sponsorship, temp pass. We should have it Monday.

The week before we left my bride was diagnosed with early stages of renal failure. Advised it could wait until we got here. Best hospital, doctors, standing by. Arrived Sunday. Got Ugly Monday night and Tuesday evening we go to the emergency room. She is admitted and not out until Thursday night. We go back Tuesday for results of the biopsy.

Tuesday our son ships out for his 3rd tour of Iraq. Big choice: go to his departure or go the hospital for the results and "other meetings" with specialists?

Neither will be fun.

But, on the bright side, Got pitched today by a recruiter for a job here, up my alley. 130% more pay than I was making (cushion that with cost of living here 150% higher)...

For those that pray, a word to the big Guy on my bride's behalf would be appreciated.

That's all the news from the front. Wish we were there...

Sorry to hear about your troubles. As I'm sure you know since you've been out there, Seattle/King County is a beautiful place. I lived up there for a few years.

Make sure you go to Galloping Gerties for me :D

My son took me to the topless drive thru coffee stand... They have those when you were stationed here, Joe? The most perky thing about the place was the double espresso... :P
