Don't believe in "home work out programs" myself.

Not saying this wont work, but for that same 40 bucks per month, you can leave the girlie bands at home, and join a gym to get a real work out.

Also not to big on using supplements, especially mail order ;)

If I was going to take supplements,Id go to GNC or somewhere to ask what would be best for you.

It works pretty well for show muscles I've heard, not sure about overall strength and fitness. Usually if it's "quick" it's just to achieve one result. If you just want to look built it'll work.

You have to change it up.

Even this will stop working after a while when your body gets used to it

its strength training...pull ups, push ups, situps and dumbells... "quick" is just a word, if you did pullups pushups, situps, and dumbells everyday for 90 days, you are gonna be ripped..and strong.

the key is actually doing it.

that said...I WANT IT...but im broke...so anyone that finishes and wants to loan it to me, or trade for ammo or something, hook a brotha up!

That's true. Army workout regimen did wonders for me, then I fell into a bag of chips and a case of beer for 6 months afterwards. BUH BYE ABS!

the focus of p90 is change. something different every day to keep your body guessing. a coworker got it and it was working til he let off for a couple weeks. then it was the 2 weeks of hell to start back

wait until you are in your fifties...arrest the slide out of fitness now (believe me on this) as it is REALLY HARD to not only get back to any semblance of "in shape", but the motivation diminishes with each passing b-day.

I look like a bag of chips...sighhhhh...

Yeah, I've got it.

Now, they're marketing is pretty cheesy, but it's a good program.

Like canyn said, it's very traditional strength training, it's just packaged in a unique program. It's a very well designed program that works out the whole body. What they label as "muscle confusion" is just fancy talk for saying that you'll workout different parts of your body on different days which will amply allow each zone recovery time for maximum growth.

The DVDs also come w/ a nutritional plan (notice I didn't say diet). The food is very good, and you actually get to eat A LOT and often!

I only got through the first phase, then got side tracked by life and other annoyances, but i dropped about 13lbs in 4 weeks, lost mass in the waist, and gained it in my chest and arms.

It's a good program, you just have to be commited to it. It also helps to be in decent shape BEFORE you start it.

If you really want to build gobs of functional muscle, it's hard to beat CrossFit.

I've been back in the gym for around a month and am just now starting to get a good routine and eating plan set up and going.

You joined back up?

LOL no I just type with other crap on my mind. I meant gym. However...it has been crossing my mind again. Probably not Army again, but maybe Air Force. Not sure I want to serve under the big O, but the money and college help might be nice.

Haha, I hear you man.

I'm still considering enlisting myself. Not sure which route I'll go, but I've got a few ideas floating around.

we used the P90x program for PT sometimes up at Ft. Lewis. one of the NCOs in the HHC bought it. it ended up being extra PT for those interested before actual PT. talk about a rediculous amount of PT. i was pending shoulder surgery at the time so i didnt participate much but it did seem to work for those who stuck with it.

A friend of mine dropped around 50 lbs, he followed it...everyday...ate the food he was suppose to. Thing is, not only did he lose the weight, he looks stronger. That program works.

I would love to have it, can't afford it at the moment, back to school expenses eating me alive. Like I mentioned, I'm good on my weight, want to get in shape. Might do some crossfit stuff. If you haven't looked at that stuff, do it. That stuff is intense, and the P90X seems to be similar.

I mentioned this in the fatty thread.

Grr. Looks like the competition will have me doing 90x instead of just power 90.

They recommend Power 90 to get into good enough shape to attempt P90x...

I have the system, it's intense, it's hard, the host is cheesy and annoying, but by God it works.

Old fashioned Push-ups, Pull-ups, ALOT of dumbbell work too, so don't think you are doing everything weight/resistance free (you can use the bands if you want to, but I never use bands).

It's got some cheesy stuff, Yoga is kinda weird, but it will kick you butt too... Plyometrics is no joke. I never bothered with the "Kenpo" crap... I just go for a run instead.

But, the core work outs of the 'show' muscles are good and solid workouts.

By the way, you can find it relatively inexpensive on Amazon.... I'm sure there are other places...

70-90 dollars on Amazon.
