my wife and i did our fingerprints exactly 5 weeks ago today and her permit just arrived. thats with one call being made at week 1. after i saw that hers arrived i called to check on mine and was told that my background check is not complete:cry: maybe soon.

Strange, I just saw that they are supposed to do the background check within 30 days.

Each agency, FBI, TBI and local sheriff each have 30 days from the time they (FBI, TBI, Sheriff) get the information. So of course there is mailing time to and from the DOS.

Figure that is one reason for the 90 days overall.

But unless there are major differences in you and your wife's backgrounds not sure why one would be completed and the other not.

the lady i talked to said that the TBI portion had not returned but didn't mention the others.

i thought 35 days for my wife's to arrive was pretty good.

I re-upped mine two days before my wife applied for hers. Hers came 6 wks later. When I called on mine they told me "The applications are in a pile in no specific order, we'll get to it when we get to it". Mine took another 4wks to come in. And it was just a renewal.
