Hi,

Has anyone had any personal or secondhand experience with this Trainer. His recommendation from Clint Smith certainly gives him some creditability and I am thinking of applying for one of his courses.

Before I did that I wanted to get some feedback on his classes if possible.

Thanks,

Bob

Yep, 2 classes. One was the defensive handgun. It was in conjunction with a couple of the smaller PD departments down there. Very well run and the instruction was great.

I took a 2nd class with my wife. It was a trial class and not advertised. It was basically a teamwork class so that you can learn to work with your spouse to eliminate a threat or work together to safely withdraw. This class didn't have as much shooting as it was mostly about tactics and communication. I can say my wife was pretty apprehensive but by the end of the day she was really in to it. She felt the class was safe and very well controlled. We worked hard and had a blast.

I'm hoping he does more of the couples classes and comes up with some follow on curriculum.

Tiger and Gretchen are really nice folks. Their place is a little low tech but is a great place to shoot.

I've read good things and would love to go down there sometime. Clint Smith is supposed to have a class there once a year if I recall correctly. Seems like I saw one on the schedule earlier this year (nothing on the website now, just shows booked) So could be one of those.

Tiger is a great instructor and good guy. I've known him for several years and recommend him frequently to students in the south. You won't be disappointed.

Haven't taken a class there yet, but I can recommend Tiger's book

The Book of Two Guns.

That is an interesting book. Not written like a typical book. Much more of a stream of consciousness. Mostly it looks like notes of things he liked from various classes he took.

A lot of the training books are kind of dry and repetitive, at least to me. I liked this one more than most.
