There is one bad apple in every bunch. What Tudor did to the teen driver is unaccptable considering what we can see in the video. But, what we do not know is what happened prior to the video. It is quite possible the teen driver did something very stupid. This does not excuse the officers actions, but could help put perspective on the situation. It would be very interesting to know the whole story.

from what i caught in the video, it sounds like the trooper thought the kid was racing. most THP dont like that kinda stuff. but you saw in the vid where the trooper got out of his cruiser and basically ran up to the kids car gun drawn and put the gun to his head inside the car. he had no right to pull his gun like that.

sounds like Tudor is a cocky SOB and needs to be off the street

It sure didn't look like the kid was resisting why the "I'm going to blow your brains out " attitude, i sure would not want to get this kind of treatment for a traffic violation. When did the police turn from the main objective of protect and serve to creating revenue and being safety police. Don't get me wrong but i don't need a law to tell me i need to wear my seatbelt if, i don't want to whats the problem.

Wow! That guy is a psychopath. It's guys like this that give LEO's a bad name. 99.9% of them are good but it only takes one dickhole like this to make everybody look bad. There can be no excuse for something like this. Given the circumstances(fellow officers funeral that day) I could maybe somewhat understand, but not condone, the abusive tirade. But rushing up to the door gun drawn and pressing it into the face of a speeder is way, way out of line.

Yeah, I think the video shows that he clearly just wanted to intimidate the kid.

I mean, if running up to a vehicle as fast as he can and shoving his pistol in the window is his tactic for removing a potentially dangerous driver from a vehicle, then his tactics are crappy at best.

It's disheartening to see this kind of behavior being tolerated when there are legions guys gunning for LEO jobs in TN.

That's what we keep hearing, but it seems like every day there's another video. Today on "Kelly's Court" segment on Fox News, they had two cops in FL, caught on their own dashcam conspiring to falsify a DUI driver's arrest report, to show she caused the accident they had with her car.

Then there was the Knoxville paper article I posted earlier today about two cops being involved with 13 yr old girls, involving alcohol, bondage, porn videos and having them dance for the cops.

It just never ends.

IMO criminal charges should have been filed for drawing his weapon on the teenager for speeding, but if nothing really became of the other, no sense in it I guess.

I can't say what I'm really thinking or I'd cause this thread to get locked and myself banned.

I wonder if he lives in a van down by the river....just saying.....Dude is way out of line and needs to find new employment.

Maybe as a Chippendale's dancer?

How do you think this would have gone down if the teenager had drawn a gun on the officer? If he survived the ensuing shooting, he would have then spent several years in prison. This is no less than criminal assault by an officer and he needs to spend time behind bars. I think his LDS got the best of him that day.

You know this guy is a dick, but it amazes me how people can still come to the conclusion like you do above Hex.

There are hundreds of thousands of cops in this country, there are a few bad ones in the group, just like their are idiot permit holders and gun owners. Some of them post on this forum.

How many of you sit on here and advocate breaking the law, but then are so quick to judge the police for their actions?

This guy deserves to be off the streets for certain, but quit trying to paint EVERY cop with a broad brush. They do a job most of you would never dream of doing nor have the balls to probably do. It doesn't make it right when they do things wrong and they are NOT above the law, but just because people have an issue with authority doesn't mean everyone who wears a uniform is a nazi.

Show me the daily videos of carry permit holders breaking the law or acting like thugs? And there's probably more permit holders than cops.

Yeah, I'll judge cops for their actions, they're the ones supposed to be upholding the laws, yet they're just as likely to break them as anyone else. I think it's ridiculous that off-duty or retired cops get a free pass to carry anywhere when as a group they haven't shown themselves to be any more law abiding than a permit holder.

Yeah, it's a dirty job and sometimes a thankless one, but they chose to do it. And it shouldn't give them carte blanche to act like dicks. And then their supervisors back then up, saying they were acting according to policy.

Yeah, there are some officers that act professionally and with courtesy, but they are getting fewer and further between. For the average person these days, nothing good will ever come from any interaction with a police officer.

It all starts with the organization's commitment to accountability for its employees. Some agencies are great, some not so good, and some plain suck (THP). I do know first hand that some agencies hold their officers very accountable for their actions prior to, or in abssence of, public scrutiny. Character is what one does when nobody is looking. Often the good agencies take appropriate actions and no one knows, because they would have and continue to appropriately discipline officers even if it isn't a public spectacle. The agencies such as THP have a track record of not taking action until (or taking weak action) after they have been called on it by public record. Makes all agencies suspect to the general public in regard to self-accountability and organizational character. The former punter is a disgrace and should be in the soup line.

How many permit holders have dash cams?

Humans as a whole are just as likely to break laws as anyone else. I agree that permit holders should be able to carry everywhere LEOs can.

No it certainly doesn't it. The same goes for cable guys showing up late, rude customer service reps, lousy wait staff...

No they aren't. It is nothing more than looking for what you want to find in it. Mass communication is everywhere now, it's simply the spread of information not an increase in incidents.

For the average person these days, nothing good will ever come from any interaction with a police officer

You mean the common criminal correct? That is a BS statement if I ever heard one. I guess the millions of incidents where cops save lives that just don't make the nightly news are all bad incidents huh?

Let's not get too far from the original topic here....

One way though to look at it is...

I'm sure many of us meet very nice and pleasant people every day. I'm sure we also see some very unsavory folks. Many people you see you may not really know how they are unless you interact with them.

The above is the same for LEOs, HCP holders, Doctors, Firefighters, Convenience store workers or any other walk of like you want to think of.

I personally try to give people the benefit of the doubt and not judge all of any group based on the actions of a few. But that being said, it is not unreasonable to be wary of any group or one person, until you know.

And attitude reflects leadership. In organizations where it is made clear up front that this type of behavior is not tolerated, incidents like this are far fewer. That being said, my personal experience with THP has been positive. Metro Nashville on the other hand.... And all of my infractions are minor, traffic related ones.
