Does anyone know of someplace (preferably Columbia, Maury County) that does any type of youth firearms training classes? My boyfriend's son has a .22 rifle his grandpa left him & is eager to shoot it. Since I did a safety class I think this would be the best way for him to do so... I would like to take him so I can supervise him in the future (and please no one worry - grandma has it locked up in the safe!)

Have you considered the TN hunter ed. course? From their website:

"The course is offered free of charge to anyone interested regardless of age; however, you must be nine years of age or older in order to become a certified hunter education graduate." and "The basic Hunter Education Course provides firearms safety training and introduces students to their responsibilities in the fields of hunter ethics and wildlife management."

Here's the link - Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency- Hunter Education

and the page for region 2 class locations - Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - Hunter Ed Classes Region 2
