Mossberg Maverick Model 88 question

Does anyone make a forward grip that will fit the Mosberg Maverick? I have read that everything that fits the Mossberg 500 will fit on the Maverick, but was also told by a local gunshop that the forward grip made for the 500 will not fit the Maverick.

Any suggestions? I have the pistol grip on my Maverick and would really like to add a forward grip.

If your 88 has the dual slide bars and pinned slide you have to replace the tube and nuts to be able to add a different foregrip.

Apparently some have the tube already and would be able to accomodate a different grip (that which would fit the 500).

Every time I think I am going to do this I don't, although it seems that the parts needed not including the foregrip is about $60 from Mossberg.

This is an interesting shotgun site and forum, and I am sure if you spend some time here this question has been asked 100s of times.

While looking into this I did get interested in the Hogue youth stock, shorter than normal for heavy clothing or vest wear. Does it fit the 88 now is the big question.

I got the 88 as a gift so I am not complaining but if I were making a buy I would stick to the Remington 870 first then Mossberg 500 next as far as being able to customize.
