I've been whitewater kayaking for over 25 years. At my boating prime about 10 years ago we thought we were pushing the limits with drops around 30'. That was enough for me.

My kayaking buddies and I have developed a theory over the last several years regarding younger guys doing these bigger drops. We call it the "Turd theory":poop:. The idea is that even a floating turd will survive a drop like that 80% of the time. Not to say he hasn't got guts, but the odds are in his favor. The difference is that as you get older you realize that you have a lot more reasons to not risk the 20% failure rate for something like this.

It constantly amazes me what people are capable of doing.
