Not implying that at all, actually just having fun on this post. I'll tell you what....I will be coming down Alcoa Hwy later today and will post as accurately and objectivly about the driving conditions and whether or not I would be endangering myself or other commuters; by following the posted speed limit and obeying our traffic laws to the letter...This oughta get a good Friday night fuss started !!

All I can say is better you than me. That is a dangerous stretch. But please, stir things up, it is, as you point out, Friday night. Isn't there a song about Friday night is right for fighting?

I used to work at an office on Alcoa highway near the equipment dealership. I had to start driving the wife's car because my truck didn't have the get up and go to keep from getting run over.

How many of you guys remember Malfunction Junction? The intersection that was replaced by the Business Loop. That one was INSANE. Rural Metro used to park an ambulance there ever rush hour and wait for the wreck to happen.

Interestingly, the civil engineer who designed Malfunction Junction died in a wreck at that intersection.

My mistake. That was Elton John's Saturday Night's All Right For Fighting. But why wait?

Nashville isn't known for great driving. I'm used to having to avoid idiots.

But I can say I've never had to use an air horn in addition to a turn signal to indicate that "YOU NEED TO MOVE NOW, BECAUSE I CAN'T!" in Nashville. :D It's not that I don't want to, but 50,000 pounds just can't get up and go!

As for driving up north, I've tried it. Not really excited about ever doing it again.
