M44 + SKS

I've had a couple I got rid off and it didn't bother me. I've had two Mini-14s and I tried to like them both. I REALLY tried! But in the end they both went and have never regretted either one. I doubt I buy another.

I had a Norinco 1011a1 (great pistol BTW) and a Browning Hi-Power that are no longer mine, but that was not my choice, but rather the POS that broke into my house several years back and made off with my locked pistol security cabinet. I hope he hurt himself openning it!

I'm hankering for a Hi-point 9 or a .45 pistol. I looked at a couple in Clinton today, but they wanted $189 and $199 for them. I thought that a bit high. They also had a Ruger LCR for $659. I thought that outragous!

I want a .45 in green

T&T will probably be at the Chilhowee show this weekend.

They always have some at just under MSRP.

I gave $149.99 for C9 a few months ago with them. Also bought the 995 carbine from them back in the winter for $199.99.

T&t is definitely the place to go. Got my c9 from them about a month ago for $140 ($165 out the door). Have about 500 rounds through it now. Not a single issue, really has grown on me. Once I put the Hogue Grips on it I just flat out fell in love.

I sure miss my sks's. I had a Russian that I really regret and a Yugo that I'm starting to regret.

All right everyone. Rest assured, you need no bolt modifications or feed ramp modifications to "transform" your SKS. The only major thing I've done is replace my factory firing pin with a spring loaded firing pin to keep the possibility of slam fires eliminated. The origional Russian design had em' so I figured it should have one. Plus it allows me to use WalMart ammo and other soft primmered ammo....

Mine works fine. I have the Tapco T-6 stock and Tapco 20rd mags. No issues with feeding or ejecting. The only issue I have is not being able to shoot the crap out of it.....:D

SKS almost always feed better with the standard fixed magazine. I don't know that I would ever try to use anything else. It's just a waste of money.

BTW, I think you got a great deal!! :D

i have heard that also, but i must have good luck on my norinco. i have some 20 and 30 round mags and never a misfeed. now i havent fired it all that much either (approx 1500)

Most people don't have any issues with them but some have. I understand when you start to modify stuff, sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes changing 1 thing will screw up everything else.....:D

Ditto on the above.

Feed ramp mods are mostly for using HP ammo, and not always required.

Bolt mods are for "drop free" magazine changes.

I have to praise the Norinco SKSs. I've had a Paratrooper Carbine since the early to mid 90s. (don't remember exactly when I got it) I've had a bunch of different 20-30 rd. mags and 3 different stocks for it, scoped and unscoped. The configuration it is in now and the one I like best is plain old wood stock, and original 10 rd fixed magazine. I've put many thousands of rounds through it with no problem. It's handy accurate and reliable. Everything I want in a carbine.

I think you spilled your ammo!

Actually, each round appears carefully placed. Posed even.

Now that's Photography!

Nice pics too. :)

I wouldn't say carefully placed........but I was hoping the pic would turn out decent enough... I'm by no means a photographer, I was just trying to get some "different" pics since my usual pics are boring :woohoo:

only so many ways to pose a firearm

I like the Lilliput ammo pic

Holy crap!!! That was my first thought as I was placing the ammo!! I kinda got into the whole ammo vs. firearm thing and thinking a firearm is near worthless without ammo, I started acting like the ammo were soldiers standing on their defeated prize amongst their fallen brethern. I don't feel so  now.
