Heading to MO

Recommended Posts

Heading Florissant MO right outside of ST. Louis this weekend to visit an Uncle in a nursing home.

Can I carry with my gun loaded in a OWB holster with my shirt covering it while driving? Can I carry the same except shirt tucked?

What about restaurants that serve alcohol? What kind of sign posting do I need to look for?

Does the zoo allow conceal carry? *Probably won't be going but just as a thought.

Not planning on sight seeing. Riding with parents and taking my little boy, normally we take my uncle out to eat and to the grocery store or Target to get him some stuff to take back to the nursing home.

In the past I been putting my gun in a small bookbag and normally kept it in the hotel at night.

The only place I've seen on the trip up there is at Boom City on the way when we stop to get gas

I was just in STL back in January and did some research for this purpose. From everything I could come up with you are good to carry in your vehicle and in restaurants. Here's a link to answer any more questions you might have: MissouriCarry.com FAQ

If you can avoid IL that would probably be best. I'm not sure if you can legally transport an unloaded handgun though that joke of a state.

I will be concealed although i'd carry in my Comp Tac paddle. I've fallen in love with that thing, I do have CTACs IWB though

Seems like I should be good to go...:P

As far as IL hahaha no way I skipped a family reunion for that very reason.. :)

Carrying of a concealed firearm in a location specified in subdivisions 1) to (17) of subsection 20 of this section by any individual who holds concealed carry endorsement issued pursuant to this section shall not be a criminal act but may subject the person to denial to the premises or removal from the premises.

Open carry is legal by state law, but local governments can regulate open carry. So you would need to know the law of the city or county you are in. It does say OC or CC is legal in vehicle with a permit. From OpenCarry.org - State Information For Missouri

Not that I would but am I reading the bolded part right in saying that if you carried in one of those places it wouldn't be criminal but if you didn't leave you could be charged with trespassing?

Looks like the Zoo would be for carry but doubt we'd have time to go. I'll have to print this off though

That is the way I read it.

It seems to be saying that a permit does not automatically allow you to carry in those 17 places, but at the same time it doesn't say you can't. Simply that any of those places can deny you entry or ask you to leave.

I'm assuming that the places where it say it is not a criminal offense for the handgun to be in the vehicle in the parking lot, means that not even those places could they not let you keep one in your car.

From what I can see from looking directly at MO laws on the states website, the only way you can get in trouble is if you refuse to leave and a LEO is called. Then it is only a $100 fine for a first offense. Section 571-107 Endorsement does not authorize conceale
