I'd rather have only at night than none at all.

Given the political landscape in Nashville, I'd say that's a huge step in the right direction. Better than none at all for sure. I also hope it's an indicator the good pressure is on!

I don't think the law allows for such compromises.

Now a city doesn't have to allow or ban carry in every park under it's control, but either way on an individual park it has to be the whole park.

Also there's nothing in the law to allow "restrictions" such as not during daylight hours.

I mean the law has made it legal (as of Sept 1) to carry in local parks. It says a local government can vote to ban carry, it doesn't say they can limit carry.

Yep, not an option. Either the entire park is carry 24/7 or it's not carry 24/7. Decisions can be made on a park-by-park basis by a local government, but that is all.

They are throwing a sop to us. "Well, we tried." :P

Well at least a couple of them are trying to think with thier head and not do a 100% ban. Many parks are closed after dark anyway. Some though have miles of trails that are litterly unatteneded at any time during the day.

This morning, Channel Four News reported that there is an ordinance from the 1960s (hence grandfathered under state preemption) which outlaws firearms in Metro parks. I wouldn't hold my breath while that ordinance is repealed....
