Are iphones really "worth" it?

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the recommendation, Jason!

I've got 2months (maybe 3, can't remember) left on my Verizon contract, and I think I'll be making the switch. My girlfirend has the BB Storm, but it just doesn't work for me. I think I'm BB illiterate

I had heard a lot about the awesome apps available for the iPhone, but just recently started actually looking at some... Holy Crap! AND there's even FREE apps available! Verizon doesn't like to give ANYTHING away...

I have two Blackberry devices, the Curve on Verizon and the Bold on AT&T and my wife has an iPhone. The iPhone is the bomb diggity. For the record, though, neither AT&T nor Verizon is the actual seller of the apps. And there are plenty of free ones for both. Pandora is my favorite, but there are plenty of others.

Hey Jason, glad to hear you got (and apparentlly love) the iphone. They are addictive as hell. Everytime a comercial comes on my wife and I both grab ours and play until the show comes back on. I don't remember how I lived before this thing!

buk

I do the same exact thing, lol.

I think that's just a rumor.

And that cartoon is 100% accurate.

hehe

Yeah, everything I had ever found in the past on the subject was due to Apple supposedly looking to hire engineers w/ a CDMA background. These rumors always fleshed out to be just that, RUMORS.

Verizon is getting the Iphone in December. Just a thought.

Well the contract with AT&T runs out in 2010 but I'm betting that the exclusivity will be in place from the date of the original iPhone release. Sometime in June I think.

That doesn't mean Apple won't keep AT&T exclusivity, it just means they won't have to. There are some valid, well semi valid, reasons why Apple may choose to just stick with AT&T.

If I could keep the iPhone and lose AT&T I would do it in a second.

Amen, I have had my iPhone for a couple months and love it but after being on Verizon for many years, my opinion is that the AT&T network sucks bad. I had heard rumors of it being worse than Verizon but never imagined that it was that much worse. Iphone and Verizon would be incredible, but I dont see it happening soon.

I get this question often at my workplace and for businesses using Exchange 2007, the iPhone is better than the Blackberry since you'll get work email & calendar integration and a much better web browser. The Blackberry sucks at web browsing. It took us 10 minutes at a failed attempt to get the weather on the Blackberry, but only 1 minute to bring up weather.com on the iPhone. So find out what you're using for email at your company and if they say Exchange, then grab an iPhone with confidence.

I like my iphone. As a former Verizon customer I hated their phones and the crap they would put on them and how they would lock functionality down. Sprint is offering some crazy deals right now and they get new phones. I just dont think anyone would have the network that Verizon has.
