I inherited this knife along with about 100 others and was wondering if anyone knew anything about this particular one. I don't know if it's actually old or just miskept and dirty. All I can make out on it is: "Japan", "Hightest", "Stainless Steel".

I remember seeing those back in the 70's when I was a Boy Scout...kind of a Japanese Swiss Army Knife

Yup. I had one.

Neat knife for a camper or a kid, but they were not really high quality. Stamped/Pinned parts, marginal steel. No real value, even now.

Nice memento though.

If it were a japanese army knife, wouldn't it have chopsticks rather than a fork and spoon.....

They weren't too interesting. Case toothpicks, one-armed-man knife, a few boot knives, a set of bulldog knives(the set with pearl, mother of pearl, rough antler, smooth antler). This particular one was the only one I didn't know anything about.
