thats sick. how was it done?

TGO David did it, similar to Dura-Coat, but slightly different. David can go over the details, but in a nutshell he had it media-blasted, painted it with several coats, cured it in the oven...all that good stuff.

He gave it a rougher texture (you can do it smooth as well). He also did another member's SIG.

Where's the sights?

I don't use sights, that's how good I am.....:screwy: j/k, had to take them off for the process, I'm putting some new one's on there.

It's Norrell's Moly Resin in their Stainless color. The first coat I did on it was slick... really slick. Almost too slick. The second coat I changed it up a little and gave it some texture so it would give some grip when he manipulates the slide.

Glad you like how it turned out, man. :D

All right....when's the shop opening!!! :( :(

That looks awsome. I saw the post where you stated you would do one or two for someone since you were playing around with the stuff. That really looks awsome. I'm sure you haven't heard this recently or anything but if you ever do decide to make your skills available "for sale", I have an SKS I'd love have done up so maybe I can pass it on down the family line before it rusts away. :P

Rifles still pose a problem to me as I'm having a bit of difficulty getting my curing oven put together. Handguns and carbines that can be disassembled into smaller pieces are easier to do as they fit inside a traditional oven.

I had meant to post prices last week but other things took my attention away from that project. I'll try to get them posted up today or tomorrow.

Keep in mind that I can still only do this for people inside the state of Tennessee, since person to person shipping of firearms intrastate is still legal. I will have to obtain an FFL to do interstate shipping of, and that brings with it a whole other bundle of obstacles.

Hey David, let us know when you have the appropriate equipment for doing rifles. I have an old Remington 788 .22-250 with a 24" barrel that needs to be refinished. I've thought about having it parkerized, but the option of different colors is appealing.
