As a child, I used to go hunting with my grandfather.. However, as an adult, getting back into it has proven to be rather difficult. First of all, I can't remember how to field dress game of any type. Secondly, none of my immediate friends are currently hunters. And lastly, since my grandfathers death, I have lost the ability to go hunt a couple hundred acres on a whim.

Hunting is a sport, unlike softball, you just can never restart, it seems.

The worst part is I have many nice shotguns and rifles and nothing to do with them.

There is plenty of public land to hunt.Usually some always within an hours drive or less.Look at www.tnwildlife.org to find some.Search youtube for field dressing the game you desire to hunt,all kinds of informational videos.

I can sympathize with your feelings,a couple of years ago I also was trying to get back into the sport,only to find that a person needs a lot more than a rifle and a license,at the time a few of my buddies were trying to get me to opt into some hunting land with them only to find out I would need some awfull deep pockets for something I could only probably participate in twice a year,when I lived in my hometown my dad had 220 acres we could hunt anytime the season was open,boy when you have it that good you dont realize it till later.
