Letter to Huey's restaurant

I sent this letter to Huey's tonight. I hated to hear that they posted because I love their burgers. I would encourage everyone, especially in the Memphis area, to take the chance to "contact" them on their website also. www.hueyburger.com

I was disappointed to hear that your restaurant has chosen to ban firearms in light of the new Tennessee law that became effective on July 14th. As a 40 year old, professional, Christian, married, father of three that does not even have as much as a speeding ticket on my record, I will miss taking my family and joining my frieds at Huey's for one of your delicious hamburgers. I have had my handgun carry permit for over 6 years and have never had to go as far as show my weapon. (I hope I never do.) However, I feel your decision blatantly says that my patronage is not welcome. If you were to investigate further than the media would have you believe, you will find that the overwhelming majority of HCP holders are very much like me and not the "cowboys" at the OK Corral that the news media seems to sensationalize.

Please think about the incident that happened recently near your location on Poplar Avenue. Do you think the "alleged" robbers will think twice about your "no guns" sign? Who are you really keeping away from your establishment.

Your delicious burgers will be sorely missed by us.
