I've got PM's sent that no longer appear in my "sent" folder. I did a recent erase, but that was after looking for the one particular message that brought this to my attention.

Was there a database rebuild, from saved or something? Or could there be a glitch somewhere?

I have been told that I'm not the only one... so maybe I ain't crazy after all. (note to self: listen to more Ozzy/ Black Sabbath)

Nope, that ain't the problem. I say "no longer appear", as in DISappear, my good man. As in, I sent it. User received it. It was in my "sent" folder and then, by no act of my own, I looked again and it was as though it was never sent. Also, apparently, I have one message in my "sent" box that was never received by the recipient.
