From idpaforum.com:

There are only 16 days left to take advantage of the low $55.00 match fee. Match fees are $85.00 after August 1st. Ten stages, 150+ round count, chrono, scales, one of the last chances to prep for the Nationals. We have a match hotel this year, as mentioned earlier, and we have a T shirt vendor on site as well. Information can be found at Tri State Regional Championship - Tri State Regional

All that and you also get SOd on a stage by yours truly...

Newb question here: Do you actually 'get' anything for winning these? I mean, is there any kind of trophy or prize or just a "hey you can shoot better than everyone else"?

Pretty much all have trophies or plaques for different divisions/classifications. Most matches have a prize table (some are bigger than others). In IDPA, prizes are by drawing; that is, a winner and a last-place finisher have equal chances of getting something off the prize table. In IPSC/USPSA, prizes are given to winners, 2nd place finishers, etc. The prize tables usually tend to be nicer in IPSC/USPSA. The Tri-State Regional has significantly reduced the prize table, with the benefit of reduced match fees. $55 for a full-blown sanctioned IDPA match is as good as it gets.

I have a question for the Memphis people. We used to shoot a Friday night match at Rangemaster as a warm up for the big match. I looked at their website the other day and it says their Friday night matches are limited to Rangemaster students. Can anyone verify this?

The Rangemaster Friday night matches officially require that shooters have taken some type of Rangemaster training, but exceptions are made all the time. Call Rangemaster and ask for Mike or Tony, or call Robbie at Arms Fair in Cordova (901-755-5540). If you used to shoot with them, you'll probably be good to go. Look forward to seeing you at the match!

There is also some discretion allowed to the SO's. The max allowed to participate on Friday is 20, if push comes to shove, RM students get preference. We havent had 20 for a while.

Barring that, if an unkown shooter arrives with enough experience and or credentials the SO can allow that shooter to particpate.

I might take the night off to rest for the match, but maybe not. You can ask for me.

I thought late fees were assessed after 08/14/2010. I was mailing mine in at 55.00 while I am in Myrtle Beach, SC. It will cost you an extra 50.00 for the side by side picture of the doo rag!!!
