Anyone have any experience with these?

Thinking about getting one, and would like to hear opinions on the company, the specific product, etc, before I drop that much cash.

I got a Lasermax for my my 27 about 10 yrs. ago, love it, but the on/off switch is not all that easy to engage, have to push it in on either side fairly hard and in a SHTF situation my finger would directly go on Trigger and not the laser switch, batteries in there still work even though the Laser has not been used in 6 yrs.

Had also thought about getting a Laser for my PF-9, which goes in the trigger-guard and comes on as soon as your trigger finger goes in guard, but from most i read, those are junk and will not work reliably.

They work fairly well.

Unlike the laser grips,they don't need zeroing which is a big plus

I inherited one in a fist generation sigma 9mm and experienced failure to feed and failure to eject on a regular basis so I purchased a stock guide rod and spring and it has been 100% since then. I sold the lasermax unit after that because I felt it was not reliable. In retrospect I am not sure if it could have been the recoil spring that was with the lasermax guide rod or something else but I will never know.

REALLY dislike them.

They very rarely are on target once installed - usually a good 5-6" off even at the distance they are "set" at. You have to send them back to the factory to be adjusted; you cant do it yourself, and they can cause undue failures due to changing the recoil spring to something that isnt as good. And on top of that, they are just plain too expensive for what they are.

Crimson Trace is the way to go if you have a firearm that they make a laser for. CT grips for the Glock look a little funny, but they work very well and you dont have to fumble for the switch to turn it on like the lasermax. Not to mention it's half the price of the lasermax.

Neither one should interfere with a holster.

+1 I have had one on my G27 about 8 years and just changed the batteries a couple weeks ago. Never had any problems with the rds I've put down range.

Damn, just found out I've got to spend $400 to get my Jeep fixed. I could still buy one, but I think I'll wait a while rather than dip into my emergency funds for the auto repair.

I have seen two glocks run like garbage with the lasermax installed. That is strange for two G19s than ran perfectly until that point. If I had to have one it would be the crimson trace. I just do not think that a laser offsets having to change internals on a gun.

I have one in my glock 26 and love it. I have had every kinda of laser they make at some point and the lasermax is by far the best.

My only problem with the grip lasers is being left handed, high thumb hold I block the laser

The link I posted is to a rear sight dovetail mounted laser. Solves a lot of problems and is $200.
