I've not been to the Forum yet, but I'm going to an event next weekend. Do I need to leave my gun at home? Is that a restricted place? I hate to go downtown without it, but I'd rather do that than leave it in my car.

It's VERY concealed. But I can't find my link (TN Laws) that tells me the restricted places so I'm at a loss right now.

My boss just reminded me they serve alcohol in the Forum, so no guns allowed. ;) Talk about feeling vulnerable.

Yup, Dixie, Guns are a no-no at the Fed-Ex Forum.

According to fedexforum.com

Animals (excluding service animals, those approved for shows, entertainment, etc.)

Fireworks

Laser pens or laser products of any type

Large Bags/ Backpacks

Outside food or beverages of any kind (alcoholic beverages included)

Poles or sticks

Projectiles

Weapons of any type, including guns and knives.

Any other item deemed unacceptable by FedExForum

In the event that items are revealed during a search, guests must dispose of the items prior to entry. The Grizzlies will not store any of the aforementioned items.

Off Limits in TN:

Places that serve beer/alcohol for consumption ON SITE.

Educational facilities.

Recreational facilities (parks etc).

A room being used as a courtroom, and court is in session.

A place that posts the no guns signs that are pursuant (comply with) the standards outlined in TN code. (39-17-1359) Saying on the internet no guns is not enough. Unless they have signs that comply, it is not posted.

Thats it.

Since a previous poster said they sell alcohol, you are not supposed to carry. Concealed means concealed of course, it is up to you.

Gun laws are under Title 39 Chapter 17 Part 13.

For what it is worth, if you ever have to use your gun to protect yourself in a no carry zone, check 39-17-1322

Oddly enough, and this is really strange, I was just on the Tennessee Firearms website but I honestly don't hve a clue how I got to it. So while I was there, I was checking for local chapters in Tipton County and couldn't find any information. The closest I could find was a Shelby County chapter but when I clicked on their meeting info link, there wasn't any info. there either.

Dixie, the main website needs work on finding chapters. The forum is more current. (Link is in my sig.)

Just so anyone going to the FedEx Forum will know, they do inspect handbags. But they're about as thorough as the security guys at the Memphis Airport. Out of 5 zippers on my handbag, they looked in 2. Gotta love the "security" folks around here. I could've walked in there with a hand grenade. But the show was great and the kids loved it (I did too!).
