I found this on a Facebook account and thought I would share it with all. It's a note from a guy complaining about a Sporting Goods Department Manager belittling people buying ammo in a Wal-Mart in Danville, KY.

Guys and Gals,

I would like to ask for a minute of your time. Read this and decide if you want to help. As a lot of you know, my wife works at the local Wal Mart in danville.

I check their ammo case frequently. I know the Dept. Manager and have for 22 years as I do most of her counter employees.

Over the last several months (since the election and the ensuing ammo crunch) she has become more and more caustic in her comments about shooters. I have heard her make fun of people who shoot and "hoard ammo" more times than I can count.

Follow this link to Read the entire post. It's pretty enlightening... and damning as well. I'm sure that Wal Mart, corporate in Bentonville doesn't condone this kind of activity but I think it speaks volums as to what the local stores allow to go on. I even had a Department Manager and an Assistant Store Manager lie to me one evening saying that it was against Federal law to sell ammunition after 10 PM Eastern. That's BS and everyone knows it. The store just didn't want to pay to have a qualified employee working the counter after 10 PM. I shouldn't have been but I was absolutely amazed at the fact that a store manager would look me in the eye and lie to me like that. The only thing I could think of to say at that point was "Don't piss on my shoes and tell me its raining."

I've heard all kinds of stuff. I bought some .308 two days ago at Turkey Creek where the older gentleman in the blue vest told me that soon I would have to show my ID to purchase ammunition and fill out a form, that way if my ammo was purchased and was used in a crime, it would be linked back to me. I found that funny because I didn't see how showing my ID would magically link me to some BOOlits. I guess he was talking about micro stamping. He looked to be in his seventies, so I asked him if he was pissed about the country being torn down around him. He just got a sad look in his eyes and said he couldn't believe what's been done to his country.

These things get old. Some employees are stupid, we get it. :poop: The reason we buy from Walmart are prices not expert assistance by some random employee.

Yup. And, if I stopped making purchases at every establishment that employed a few less than knowledgeable or rude people, I probably wouldn't be able to buy anything at all.

My Dad bought a scope from the Wally World here in Dayton and they said it was store policy to escort him out of the store....with his scope.... :tough: Crazy.

Does he have a felony "peeping tom" charge or something. No wait, you can't buy a scope with a felony...nevermind. ;)

Amazing how some people are able to find their way to work in the mornings.

Oh well, what do you expect for 7-8 dollars an hour. :D

I wouldn't base their intelligence on what they make. Some of the animal keepers where I work barely make more than minimum wage and all of them have degrees and are pretty smart. I would say it has to do more with them not being able to find a job elsewhere. Walmart will hire dang near anybody.
