Carry on the Blue Ridge Parkway

My wife and I are going camping at a campground on the Blue Ridge Parkway next week. We will be in North Carolina, near Brevard.

I know NC will honor my permit, but does anyone know if it is legal to carry on the Parkway itself, or in the campgrounds?

Blue Ridge Parkway is part of the National Park System:

IANAL, but I don't think you will be able to carry there until February 2010. Federal "peaceable journey" laws are probably your only safe provision while driving on the parkway.

I agree.

The Blue Ridge Parkway is just like the Natchez Trace Parkway in that the roadway itself is part of the park...A National Park.

So carry will not be legal 'till Feb 2010

OK, thanks. I was kind of thinking that, but I was hoping someone would say something different.

Now, can I keep it with me unloaded and seperated from ammo while driving around? And would my tent be considered my domicile, and therefore allow me to keep it there at night?

It's a stretch, I know, but I want to stay legal.

AFAIK Yes on the unloaded and kept seperate.

Not really sure on the then, but first thought is No.
